Hawk 'n' Dove

This is like the Studio 600 of D.C. except for no country and a little bit more alcohol downstairs. Luckily there is no smoking and most of the interns come here and go into a different room than the alcohol to dance.

The only car ride I will ever have here...

First Week Of Washington D.C.

Our first day of work! We packed our own lunches and just like the first day of school we took pictures before we went out and on our way. This was our ride to church on Sunday. It is only a couple of stops away and there is barely anyone on the "Metro" (aka subway) on Sunday. The people of D.C. keep it very clean and take pride in their transportation system. They take so much pride in this system that everyone pitches in and helps out. I had a perfect example of that yesterday. I decided to eat my breakfast while traveling about 25 minutes into D.C. when a woman approached me. She explained to me how rude it was to eat on the Metro and how some people may be hungry or just want a little more. She also informed me that I could recieve a ticket (like a speeding ticket) if the police caught me. I told her I apologize and I didn't know there was any law about that. She then went on her way and the whole train went silent after they had heard our whole escapade. They were probably happy somebody mentioned to the new comer about this law I had never heard about and grateful that she took it upon herself to tell my roommate and I. I now know I will eat breakfast in my apartment and ONLY in my apartment so I can do my part to keep the transportation system clean and a proud citizen of D.C!

We went grocery shopping over the weekend and we had to carry a whole cart load home. We took many stops on the way to rest ourselves! Right before we arrived at the apartment complex a lady exclaimed across the sidewalk that we could have just asked for a cart. Next time we are definately using a cart. I was used to a nice car pulling into a garage with groceries for too long!

christmas time/displaying the wonderful tree

I had one more coat for Christmas as some would call it the "Christmas coat for Becky"

Snowboarding vs Skiing

My dad taught us all how to ski when we were little, but somehow we all switched to snowboarding except for Stacy.
I took up snowboarding to decide which one I liked better, but I decided skiing and snowboarding are both great and why just stick with both?!

These are my mom's pants that she bought when she was our age. Apparently they were very pricy at the time, but she definitely got her use out of them and a good picture of Katelyn too!

Camp out

Tyler and Jordan set up a tent in our basement and decided we should have a camp out. In the excitment of it all I found myself offering to camp out with them not realizing what that entailed. I tried to postpone it as long as possible telling them we couldn't do it during a school night, but when it came to Friday Tyler was not letting me off the hook. When I came home later that night they were both fast asleep so I thought they wouldn't miss me much if I slept in my own bed. The next night Tyler was not going to let me get away with that again so they both stayed up until I got home. I was trapped. I have to say it was quite the camp out and despite my feet hitting the end of the tent we slept through the night (or at least part way through).

Christmas Tradition

As an elementary studen during the holiday season my annual assingment (or at least it seemed like an annual assignment) was to describe and explain what traditions you carry in your family. The only tradition that I could ever describe was our matching pj's we would receive every Christmas Eve. I thought it was a lovely tradion and am proud to say it still carries on even if we are just a little older!

This was an e-mail I received from my dad and I thought it explains everything about America quite nicely-

"Written by an Australian Dentist To Kill an American You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American. So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is. So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)
'An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan. An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans. An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses. An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God. An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness. An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return. When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country! As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11 , 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists. So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American."

Things we do at Zions Bank

Make complicated six point star snowflakes (each snowflake is truly different!!)

Do the scorpion in the back room, only on our breaks of course.

Hobble around on crutches and not just any crutches, but crutches with shocks.

Go out to eat and... make funny faces.

And last but not least we still do cash give aways!!

Our cash give aways left us with very little on Christmas Eve.
